More Literature-Inspired Creations

Even though I have been madly preparing for the Kingston Makers Market this week, I have still found some time to re-stock Two Cheeky Monkeys with literary creations.  I'll be bringing all the new pieces along with me to the market, so if you're wanting something for Christmas, speak now before I sell out again!

Handmade Christmas Gift Guide: Stocking Stuffers and the "Just in Case" Gift

Maybe you're all super organised types who meticulously plan gifts for all and sundry, but I'm sure there are those out there who every year realise, "Oh help, I forgot to get a present for my neighbour/dog walker/boss/coffee buddy/etc."  Or maybe you've bought gifts for all your loved ones but want a little extra something to add to it.  So my final Madeit Christmas gift guide is full of items which are easy to store away in case of a Christmas gift emergency or for use as "stocking stuffers".

Edible gifts are great for bringing along to impromptu Christmas parties.

The usefulness of keyrings cannot be underestimated!

Keep a store of pocket mirrors for fashion conscious acquaintances (or little girls).

Notebooks are another one of those very useful little gifts.

Everyone has at least one foodie acquaintance, right?

Buying a book for someone this Christmas? Team it with a literary bookmark!

Don't just give flowers, give them with a fun vase (or two) too.

Even females with short hair will need cute hairclips every now and then.

Kingston Makers Market

After my rather disastrous return to the Melbourne market scene a few months ago, you would think that I would be running for the hills at the mere mention of markets.  But no, I decided to keep persevering and will be appearing at the Kingston Makers Market this Saturday for the very first time.

The Makers Market is held every year at the Kingston City Hall in Moorabbin, a south-eastern suburb of Melbourne.  It is a once a year pre-Christmas twilight market full of good food, great music and lots of handmade stalls selling locally made arts and crafts.  I'll be there with my Two Cheeky Monkeys creations this Saturday, Dec 6th.  So if you're in town, please come along and say hi to me.

Richard Scarry and Jane Austen - Literary Book Buntings for a Range of Readers

Today I am excited to show off my two newest book buntings for Domum Vindemia!  One of them has been a long time in coming, and should excite all the fans who have been asking for more and more Jane Austen creations.  Yes, you guessed it, I have finally gotten round to designing and making a Pride and Prejudice book bunting for all the Mr Darcy devotees out there!

Obviously, each bunting will feature different pages of Austen's most beloved novel, but every bunting will feature your favourite characters such as Mr Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet, as well as other Bennet and Bingley family members or relations.

The other new bunting to grace Domum Vindemia's online shelves features one of my favourite childhood authors, Richard Scarry.  This bunting is taken from The Busiest Fire Fighters Ever and is full of darling illustrations of the firefighting pig crew dealing with fires and other disasters around Busytown.  So let me ask you: which bunting do you prefer?

Handmade Christmas Gift Guide: Teachers

Today's gift guide covers a range of items with which to thank teachers for working so hard to teach your little troublemakers (yes, that's the little Cheeky Monkeys through and through!) all year.  For those of you who are still studying or have gone back for more studies, there are gifts appropriate for your favourite lecturers and tutors too.  And don't forget the poor swimming, language, or dance teachers and sports coaches either!

New Candyland Additions

As you can probably tell by the tone and sudden increase in blog posts, things are at that pre-Christmas craziness which annually hits the Two Cheeky Monkeys household.  But in spite of all the running around and stress, I have still found some time to keep working on new pieces for my stores.

This week I found time to add to my beloved Candyland range of necklaces with two new necklaces completed.  Although I don't mix and match colours in my own wardrobe, I do love to create in striking (and sometimes bold for me) colour combinations.  What do you think of the latest Candyland necklaces?
